Janelle chaplin for KEVIN.MURPHY recently did the hair direction on the latest music video from  NATT WELLER. The video called  TALLULA directed by Ben Charles Edwards shot in a grand warehouse space a little out of LONDON. He sings about his long lost love Tallula and throughout the video he is on the search for her….. Below Chris Edwards has taken stills from the video and i have described each of the looks and what we did to achieve them!

NATT WELLER
Natt has been using KM for just under a year now and LOVES the new HYDRATE-ME WASH and RINSE. In these shots above we dried Natts locks with EASY.RIDER and then worked some FULL.ON.PROTECTION to ensure we create maximum texture. In between takes we just worked with SESSION.SPRAY to ensure the locks stayed in place! Natts and his unique look was amazing to work with, he kills it!

TALLULA

The character Tallula was played by model above. To create her look we used a half head of weaves throughout. Applyed ANTI.GRAVITY and worked it into the hair. We then platted the hair in about 6 sections of plats, poped all the plats in a hair net and applied heat. Once cooled we then used FRESH.HAIR and SMOOTHING.BRUSH to shape the hair! She looked angelic in every shot!

CELL GIRL [one]

TEXTURE TEXTURE TEXTUR! For this character we blasted with FULL.ON.PROTECTION and set with tiny crimping irons and brushed 101 strokes until the locks fell in to shape…..We then added black fetish tape, so she could check if strands were out of place!

We did the TONG and HAIR.CURLER placement here, then we tucked her up to look a bit sassy 50’s! Laced with SESSION.SPRAY

CELL GIRL [THREE]

Cell girl number three is Getting WIGGY with it! this wig has been all around the globe and back again….i think it needs VIP passes for the rest of its career!

Well that’s the hair vibe for the video, it was a blast……Don’t you just LOVE pop!

KEVIN.MURPHY FRESH.HAIR

These days, to be honest, it’s a little boring to have to scrub those locks everyday! That’s why I feel dry shampoo’s are taking over the suds, well at least twice between washes anyway! I know now I can have that extra drink as its shower cap and powdered FRESH looking hair in the am for me!

Powdered shampoos are designed to work without water. They are typically based on powders, and are intended to absorb excess sebum from the hair before being brushed out. A dry shampoo for the hair that gives body and texture, Removes odors, excess oil, and all your sins from the Night before. Can be used as a text riser for modern Matte looks. Our KEVIN.MURPHY FRESH.HAIR Contains fragrant oil extracts of Cassia and Orange Flower. When using a dry shampoo don’t think of it as a hairspray. It’s not for all over; you want to go for a light spray “on the roots, hair line And part line” ONLY, this will avoid the dusty look and remember to either rub with a towel or brush after using.

GRITTY.BIZZ…….

It’s what you have all been waiting for…the new formulation just as GRITTY but with far less GRITT!  We all know and love KEVIN.MURPHY GRITTY.BUSINESS however it contained quite the GRITT, which at times was a little much, especially in the darker locks. Mr. Murphy has now tweaked the formulas so now it has lots of guts, but with NO GRITT! Mr. Murphy has also made the product firmer and dryer so it tends to flop less, enhancing so much “ph” phattens in the hair.  It was always one of my favorites on the menu now I think it has moved straight to the top, I heart this new Gritt! You will see you are rocking the GRITT.LESS formulation as we have a little “new” stamp on it! [See below] Have fun getting “gritty with it!”
