Joanna followed the steps straight to SCREEN.SIREN SUCCESS

Step one Apply ANTI.GRAVITY then dry and comb through with your TEXTURE COMB

Step two Front/ either side of your part line split section into 2 horizontal sections using the corner of your eyebrow as a guide. Tong then place in HAIR.CURLERS to cool.

Step three Back/ section back into 3 long horizontal sections then split down middle so you have 6 sections. Pull sections forward and tong then plae in HAIR.CURLERS to cool.

Step Four remove the curlers use your  mitts to work thorough the curls.

Step Five Dress the hair with your TEXTURE comb then find the waves around the face and place in your pin,curl.clips.

Step Six Spray with SESSION.SPRAY then remove clips and shake to modernize.

LAYER NIGHT.RIDER IN LONG DRY HAIR.

Step one.

First Blow wave your clients hair to 100% dry using either MOTION.LOTION or ANTI.GRAVITY leaving as much natural texture as possilbe.

Step Two.

Once dry use a nail full of NIGHT.RIDER lightly patting in your hands.

Step Three.

Starting for the nape pushing the hair forward work through whilst twisting sections of hair. Then re blast in with your dryer.

The inspiration for POWDER.PUFF came while working with The Wig Master at the Australian Ballet. I have been fortunate enough to work with him on special projects from time to time in which I’ve learnt an awful lot from him. However my constant dilemma and eternal question is as always “how do you stop hair from going flat??” He said to me to look back to the time of Marie Antoinette, “they did not have all the products we have now but they sure had volume”. I looked at the powdered wigs of the 18th century and realised powder was the key. I wanted the performance of powder but I didn’t want to see it. Suddenly I stumbled across technology that allowed the powder to morph into a paste and become invisible whilst giving lots of support. Back at the lab we used Seaweed Extracts from France along with Extracts from Apples, Plums, Cranberries and Citrus to create this unique powder volumiser. To use this product simply shake a tiny amount onto dry hair and massage between your fingers and watch your hair grow!

Janelle chaplin for KEVIN.MURPHY recently did the hair direction on the latest music video from  NATT WELLER. The video called  TALLULA directed by Ben Charles Edwards shot in a grand warehouse space a little out of LONDON. He sings about his long lost love Tallula and throughout the video he is on the search for her….. Below Chris Edwards has taken stills from the video and i have described each of the looks and what we did to achieve them!

NATT WELLER
Natt has been using KM for just under a year now and LOVES the new HYDRATE-ME WASH and RINSE. In these shots above we dried Natts locks with EASY.RIDER and then worked some FULL.ON.PROTECTION to ensure we create maximum texture. In between takes we just worked with SESSION.SPRAY to ensure the locks stayed in place! Natts and his unique look was amazing to work with, he kills it!

TALLULA

The character Tallula was played by model above. To create her look we used a half head of weaves throughout. Applyed ANTI.GRAVITY and worked it into the hair. We then platted the hair in about 6 sections of plats, poped all the plats in a hair net and applied heat. Once cooled we then used FRESH.HAIR and SMOOTHING.BRUSH to shape the hair! She looked angelic in every shot!

CELL GIRL [one]

TEXTURE TEXTURE TEXTUR! For this character we blasted with FULL.ON.PROTECTION and set with tiny crimping irons and brushed 101 strokes until the locks fell in to shape…..We then added black fetish tape, so she could check if strands were out of place!

CELL GIRL [TWO]

We did the TONG and HAIR.CURLER placement here, then we tucked her up to look a bit sassy 50’s! Laced with SESSION.SPRAY

CELL GIRL [THREE]

Cell girl number three is Getting WIGGY with it! this wig has been all around the globe and back again….i think it needs VIP passes for the rest of its career!

Well that’s the hair vibe for the video, it was a blast……Don’t you just LOVE pop!

These days, to be honest, it’s a little boring to have to scrub those locks everyday! That’s why I feel dry shampoo’s are taking over the suds, well at least twice between washes anyway! I know now I can have that extra drink as its shower cap and powdered FRESH looking hair in the am for me!

It’s not for all over; you want to go for a light spray “on the roots, hair line And part line” ONLY, this will avoid the dusty look and remember to either rub with a towel or brush after using.
