The Melbourne Spring Fashion Week Opening Party took place at Georges, an old building which many years ago used to be an exclusive department store.
Sinister glamour is an apt way to describe the model installations in the windows at the entrance to the party. Dramatic lighting complimented the look.
Inside, models sat perched on windows three metres above the ground. A hint of sparkle peaking through the cape. The blue capes were specially designed for this event.
The presenters at this year’s opening party were Melbourne’s Lord Mayor Robert Doyle, Dannii Minogue, and Face of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, Sophie Van Den Akker.
Dannii Minogue’s sleek look, styled by Kevin Murphy himself, was a mix of Twiggy crossed with Josephine Baker and was styled with KEVIN.MURPHY TEXTURE.MASTER. She was dressed in a vintage inspired Manning Cartel dress.
Sophie Van Den Akker’s hair was all glamour and was styled by James Furness, Style Master for KEVIN.MURPHY.
There were plenty of celebrity sightings…

Nick Bracks, the son of former Victoria Premier Steve Bracks was also in attendance.
Some Photo Op Moments…
